Parks & Open Spaces
With over 1,500 acres of parks and open spaces in Solihull and 17 Green Flag Parks, there is plenty to see and do, no matter where you are. It’s easy to understand why our motto is "Urbs in Rure", meaning "Town in the Country".

Meet Horace
Introducing Solihull’s new park mascot, Horace the hedgehog! Horace will be on signs promoting the benefits of our parks for physical and mental wellbeing and championing biodiversity across the borough. Your litter picking efforts help keep Horace and his friends safe, healthy and their areas of residence litter free! Horace was named after Horace Brueton, who gifted Brueton Park to SMBC in 1944.
